The remarkable region of pilat

Spread over a rural area of 700km² this land of contrast, Pilat, has a particularly rich and diverse natural and cultural heritage.

Located near the cities of Lyon and St. Etienne, the Parc du Pilat attracts many urbanites in search of real nature.

Natural resources

Pilat is home to 50,000 inhabitants who all contribute to the local dynamic. This medium sized mountain range ranging from 140m to 1432m in height, is where the Mediterranean, continental and oceanic climates meet, giving it a unique diversity of natural resources.

In consideration of all its riches, human, natural and historical, the Pilat massif has been a designated regional nature Park since 1974.
