Reciprocity and intermunicipal cooperation
Since their inception, the Park has worked closely with the intermunicipal groups in order to ensure the balanced development of the territory in various areas such as tourism, agriculture and the environment. Today, intermunicipal groups have evolved, and their involvement in the effectuation of the charter is more necessary than ever.
Objective
The objective expressed in the charter is to consolidate the partnership with the intermunicipal organisations inside and on the periphery of the territory by making their policies consistent.
The Park has no mission to replace the Public Institutions of Intercommunal Cooperation (EPCI), therefore cooperation is preferred. This is all the more important now that the EPCI’s missions are expanding through the years.
On the other hand, one should pay attention to the breaking up of the territory into different “lands”. Pilat has benefited from various sustainable development procedures, and has shown that it was at a pertinent level to continue with these procedures.
The Park’s Syndicat Mixte carries with it the notion of solidarity between rural areas and urban areas, since it includes both rural communes and urban communes.
Park cooperates with the intermunicipal partners to carry out European, regional and departmental policies that affect the development of the massif.
The establishment of a territorial component is an expected future Park Contract with the Region for 2010/2014.
