Objective for 2010, the guidelines

The current Parc du Pilat charter was validated by the Prime Minister’s decree in February 2001.

Territory

The territorial project: 3 guidelines

The territorial project which is being carried out by local acting bodies according to their skills has 3 main guidelines:

  • Affirm the rural identity of Pilat in its urban environment by its own territorial economy, based on sustainable development and preserving its natural habitats and beautiful landscapes
  • Establish a harmonious collaboration between the gateway towns, based on the talent and strengths of each community.
  • Be open to the region and the rest of the world.

Park plan: 3 spaces

These guidelines have been spatialised over a map of the Park. This distinguishes three spaces where different skills are needed.

  • The edges of the Park, which mark a straightforward border between town and countryside.
  • The upper areas, vibrant living spaces based on sustainable development.
  • The ridges and their surrounding areas, an area of nature that is preserved and looked after.

The logo

Logo PilatA new logo symbolising the territorial project was designed for this charter:

Two firs and one beech tree representing the diversity of the natural forest of Pilat.
A chirat represents the geographic uniqueness of the massif.
These symbols, characteristic of Pilat, are inscribed in an oval with a star above them, which is the logo for the regional nature Parks of France.
