A history of events

From the outset, the Parc du Pilat has put in place an architectural assistance programme to preserve the quality of the built heritage and to ensure that it is in harmony with the contemporary urbanisation.

1500km of hiking trails are marked, maintained and indexed by the Park to help develop nature tourism which in turn generates economic benefits for the area.

Among the first actions the Park took, was the redevelopment of the vineyards, which has enabled the revival of the prestigious Condrieu appellation.

Since the beginning of the Park, shows and concerts have made for lively summers full of culture.

The Park undertook to redevelop the craft and trade industry so as to maintain services in the villages.

In the early stages, the Park formed several “recreational” facilities to develop exploration in Pilat. That’s how it managed to carry out the basic project of Leisure activities in Saint Pierre de Bœuf or the hostelry in Thélis la Combe, before passing them on to the appropriate collectives.
